Yum Yum Sik Sik at Vietnam...

Its been soooo long since my last post...
Nothing much to share recently. So i will just post some pictures of food i ate in Vietnam..
Just picture, not much information about them :P



Pho 24; Broken rice set; not bad. quite nice. the pork chop is good!

Chuka Zanmai-Hartamas Shopping Center

The other day while I was walking around Hartamas Shopping Center, notice that there is a newly open Japanese Restaurant. The restaurant is called, Chuka Zanmai..


The Restaurant

The interior design and decorations in the restaurant is very nice and classy. The lights hang on top of each tables are quite unique (i forgot to take pictures of it)....anyway overall the interior design of the restaurant is good!!

The menu is also very pretty..The colours and design are very comfortable to look at. But this restaurant offer very limited dishes as compare to other Japanese restaurant i had dined in.

The menu is limited to shasimi, ramen, stone bowl fried rice, fried snacks, grilled seafood and some desert. I was thinking to have some sushi, but there are no sushi served in this restaurant :(

Anyway, we decided to order a few dishes to share. We ordered a spicy fried karaage, fried soft shell crab, grilled cod fish, miso ramen and a pot of green tea. The green tea is not free here :(


But it is free flow , u can refill.. RM3 per pot (good for 2)

The spicy fried karaage is not as good as expected. It is not that spicy. It just tasted as ordinary fried chicken meat at any Japanese restaurant... Not really a good choice!

Next was the spicy fried soft shell crab. This is one of the dish that i am eager to eat that day. But when the plate of soft shell crab was put on top on my table, i felt so disappointed. The first thing that came to my mind was, how come the crab is soo THIN!!! The moment i took a bite on it i felt even worst! sigh...very disappointed.. There is some 'water' inside the crab when i bite on it.. I am sure it is water not oil..

Later, the miso ramen arrived. After being disappointed by the 2 dishes earlier, I didn't have any mood to eat the ramen already. Anyway i still try it, hope it will make some difference. But , it is still not as good as i expected. The miso taste is so light. U can hardly tell that is a miso soup based. Maybe i love miso taste , so i expect its taste to be stronger. there are a lot of vegetables in the miso but lacking of ' bean sprout' , the ramen texture and taste is normal, nothing special about it

Lastly, the cod fish arrived. The fish is fresh and soft. The teriyaki sauce is good not too salty. The cod fish's skin was cooked till crispy. I enjoy eating it. The only dish that i am happy with in this restaurant.

Overall, i was quite disappointed with the dishes served in this restaurant. Maybe i ordered the wrong dish or it just don't suit my taste bud.
The decorations and the utensils are very nice, but the taste is 'so so only'. I would not return to this place for a time being.. Unless i hear some good comments about it in future.

I went to Penang around last year for food marathon...
I was too busy to blog about it...till today... Sadly i forgot most of the details of the food.
