Ying Ker Lou, Chinese-Hakka Cuisine

Its been quite long since i update this blog...
Anyway i would like to share with u all one of my 'eating' experience at The curve...
While me and 2 of my friends were walking around to decide what to have for lunch, we came across a Chinese restaurant that serve Hakka cuisine. After some quick discussion, we decided to try this restaurant out

What had really attract me in this restaurant are, the dishes are low oil, low salt and serve no MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) at all!! It is very healthy!!! Love it..

Inside the restaurant

The dishes we ordered were;
  • 2 Bowl of Soup for sharing.

The soups are Stew Yellow Cucumber Soup with sliced pork and Stew watercress soup with sliced pork.. Both of the soup are very delicious!! The soup has been braised for very long, as it has a very strong taste of its ingredients.. It certainly allow me to absorb the nutrient from the ingredients and herbs!!
  • Abacus

This is a very traditional dish. It is also one of my favourite Hakka dish. The yam is filled into rice flour dough and shaped it like an abacus. It was later fried together with some Chinese carrot, black fungus sliced, bean curb, sliced pork and spring onion. The restaurant had cooked it quite well!!!

  • Steam Dumpling

There offer variety of dumplings or kau qi. There are different types of fillings. There are also fried ones. The dumpling's has a lot of filling which make it very delicious!!!

  • 2 bowl of rice and Tea for sharing!!

There offer normal white rice and brown rice. We order each one for sharing!
The tea pot is heavier than you think!!!!

  • Stew beef sliced with Bitter gourd

Nice!!! The beef is very soft and tender. The bitter gourd has certainly add flavours to the sauce of the dish. Surprisingly for someone who don't really like bitter gourd, I had enjoyed this dish a lot
  • Pork with black fungus
Not bad, the pork is very soft. The black fungus is quite crunchy and fresh too. The dish is not too salty, it is very nice to eat with rice!
  • Nam Yu fried chicken

The chicken is marinated with nam yu and later fried. The chicken is very crispy and tasty. Not very oily. Although the nam yu taste is very strong but it is not too salty. Like it too!!

There is also another branch at Sunway Pyramid :)

Overall rating:
  • Environment : 7/10 (clean and decent)
  • Food : 7.5/10 (thumbs up for no MSG)
  • Service : 7/10
  • Price : can't remember :p
