Chilli Padi Restaurant

Time to update my delicious blog .... :)

Last month, I went to get some information in Hong Leong Bank at Jalan Kuchai Lama.
After getting the details I want, Kit and I had decided to have our lunch nearby.
While walking along the shops lot we come across a restaurant name Chilli Padi. This restaurant is situated at the corner of the shop lots.

Inside the restaurant, there are quite a number of customer already dining in and enjoying their food.
There are plenty of seats and tables in the restaurant. There are also televisions inside to 'entertains' the customer while they having their meals. However, the restaurant is a bit dark to me.

Chilli Padi Restaurant

The restaurant certainly offer a wide variety in their menu.
There are local cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Indonesian cuisine and western cuisine, all available in the restaurant. However, while strolling at the menu, it certainly reminds me of Madam's Kwan and Sakura Restaurant. All these 3 restaurant offer the similar dish in the menu.

After about 15 minutes looking at the menu, Kit had decided to order Nasi Lemak while i had decided to try their Nasi Bojari. (Similar dish from Madam's Kwan&Sakura , want to compare the taste hehe....) I can't remember what drink we had ordered but i remember it was a fruit juice.

Anyway about 10 minutes time, Kit Nasi Lemak arrived to the table. It looks good and delicious.
The aroma of the fragrant rice certainly makes me feel hungry!!!.. The santan in the curry chicken also looks very tempting. The sambal ikan bilis is not too spicy just nice to be eaten with the rice. There are some acak (pickles), a half portion of boiled eggs, dried shrimp paste, 2 slices of cucumber and tomatoes as the side dish and decoration. The portion of the Nasi Lemak is quite big too. Overall it was a nice and hot nasi lemak. Good choice if you want to stick to local delight!

Nasi Lemak

About 5 minutes later, my Nasi Bojari arrived. The chicken is still very hot when it served to my table. It was fried to golden brown, a bit over fried but it is very crispy and tasty! The aroma of the rice is not as strong as Nasi Lemak but it still makes me hungry!! The side dish; beef rendang and sambal prawn are very tempting. The beef rendang is quite tasty, its texture remains soft even the beef is well cooked. The prawn is quite fresh and the sambal has a mixture of spicy and sour taste. There are also a half portion of half boiled egg, cucumber and tomatoes slices as the side dish and decoration in the Nasi Bojari. The portion is also quite big.. A good choice if you are very hungry!!!!Yummy!

Nasi Bojari

Conclusion, the presentation of the food certainly similar to Madam's Kwan and Sakura restaurant. The taste is also quite good. Not a bad choice!

Overall rating:
  • Environment : 6.5/10 (the restaurant too dark, air cond)
  • Food : 7/10
  • Service : 7/10
  • Price : around RM30 for 2 person with 2 main dishes and 2 drinks

WENDY'S - JAYA ONE

Hi all....'Long time no see!!!"
I know, Its been so long since I update my blog..

A thousand appologies to all who visit my blog!!
Ok lets talk about FOOD!!!
Last Wednesday, my team mates and I had decided to try Wendy's, the newly open fast food chain in Jaya One.
Long time ago, Wendy's already open its outlets in Malaysia, but due to not so popular demand and competition from the other fast food chains, Wendy's had closed down all the outlets. However, last year Wendy's is back!!!!....The first outlet was in Sunway Pyramid 2, but i didn't give it a try as i was busy eating other food hehe...

WENDY'S....
The lady with some 'pimples' on the cheek...(so bad)
hehee......

Ok, back to my Wednesday lunch!
When we reached the outlets, it was already packed with lots of customers!
The outlet is so crowded and we hardly manage to get seats. But the friendly staffs has been very helpful to get seats for us.
There are many variety of burgers and food offered in Wendy's menu!!
The signature menu includes spicy chicken burger, fish fillet burger, shrimp burger, whooper (beef) with cheese, fried chicken, baked potatoes, chili and so on.

Part of the Menus...

I had decided to order Spicy Chicken Burger Medium Meal. Like the usual value meal of the fast food chain, this meal include a medium french fries and soft drink.

The burger looks very 'YUMMY'!! The size of the burger is much bigger compare to McDonald's and KFC's burger. The best part of the burger for me is the buns! The buns is freshly baked, it is very soft and tastefully buttered! It is very different from the other burgers' buns from McDonald, Burger King or KFC. I really love the burger buns!! The spicy chicken burger is not so spicy as I expected (not as spicy as McD's spicy chicken mcdeluxe). The chicken meat is lightly spiced by chili powder and fried. The chicken meat is quite 'thick' and very filling!! There are lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise inside the burger as well. Overall this burger tasted very nice!! Love it, the only regret is the lack of lettuce in the burger, i prefer the burger has more lettuce as compare to a slice only :S Other than that, it certainly taste good!!

Spicy Chicken Burger!! Yum Yum

The french fries is also tasty! It was lightly fried till golden brown and still maintain its texture after fried for quite some time But I still prefer McDonald's french fries. The soft drink taste as the normal soft drink only. There a few types of soft drink to be choose to suit your preference.

French Fries...

Most of my team mates order Spicy Chicken Burger meal like mine, however one of my colleague had order the Fish Fillet Burger and 2 of them had ordered the Whooper (beef) with cheese burger meal. 3 of them had give credits to the burgers as well. They enjoy eating it very much. Both fish fillet and whooper portion is very big and filling.

Fish fillet Burger

Whooper (Beef) with Cheese Burger..

While we were having our meal, there are few staff walk around from table to table to ask customers about the food quality and comments about this fast food outlet. The staff also took some pictures of the customers. There is also a sweet lady wearing her Wendy's costume to welcome the customers!

Conclusion, I really enjoy my meal in Wendy's. The burger is really tasty!
I am still missing the burger buns a lot!!!! YUMMY!! I will certainly go back to Wendy's again to try the other menus offered. Ohya, Tommy told me that the Chili is also tasty. I will give it a try the next visit to Wendy's!

Overall rating:
  • Environment : 6.5/10 (like other fast food outlets, air cond)
  • Food : 8/10(Credits to the burger buns!!!)
  • Service : 7.5/10(the staff is very friendly and helpful)
  • Price : around rm10/medium meal

Starbucks - Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

I know, i know.. Starbucks already very very famous. I don't need to introduce their menu anymore. However, there is this muffin that Starbucks offer really take my breath away hehee....

It is the Chocolate Chip Banana Muffin. I am not really a fan of muffins. All the while if I ordered a muffin, I will only concentrate on the muffin top part hehehe....whereby I often left the muffin and finished by my sisters or dad.
However, this Starbucks Chocolate Chip Banana Muffin had changed my eating behaviour hehe...

The whole muffin is actually a banana cake!!! It is stuffed with lots of chocolate chips. The muffin top is chocolate flavoured, it is very delicious too. The combined aroma of chocolate and banana is so strong after the muffin had been warmed up for a while. The chocolate is melting ....wow...heaven!!!...

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffin.....

Hehehe....I can still manage to finish the muffin even there is no more muffin tops.. All thanks to the chocolate chip and banana cake alike muffin..
Yummy!!! I will certainly get another one when I have craving for MUFFINS!!!..

Overall rating:

  • Environment : 7/10 (starbucks ; got air cond, sofas, music, wifi)
  • Food : 8/10(Chocolate chip banana muffins)
  • Service : 6.5/10(service quite fast )
  • Price : around rm5-6 (can't remember)

Uncle Mark Chicken Rice and Wantan Mee (Sentul)

Few weeks ago, I had a simple lunch at Sentul area.
After a few attempts of getting car park, we finally stopped by around a stall called Uncle Mark Chicken Rice and Wantan Mee.

The Stall .....

Their menu includes ; chicken rice, roasted chicken, white chicken, char siew (barbecued pork), siu york (roasted pork), wan tan noodles, fish balls noddles and drinks.
This stall is very packed with customers. All along I notice that there are a lot of customers visiting this stall.

Both Kit and I ordered Wan tan noodle with siu york instead of char siew, as I am a fan of siu york.
The Wantan noodle tasted normal, quite delicious. The wantan is quite 'big' too. There are a lot of fillings inside the wantan, unlike some other stalls that put very little 'pork or shrimp' into it.
The siu york is delicious. It is well roasted and not too salty or fat. It goes well with the wantan noodle. yummy.

Wantan Noodle with Roasted Pork (yummy)

However, the wantan noodle portion is quite small. Suitable for kids or ladies that want a light meal.
It is certainly a famous stall for the neighbourhood.

Overall rating:

  • Environment : 6/10 (normal stall)
  • Food : 7/10
  • Service : 6.5/10(service quite fast )
  • Price : around rm5 (noodle and a cup of chinese tea)

Bakeroni

Last Friday, Jin, Andrew and I had decided to have our 'yumcha' session at a nearby cafe called Bakeroni.
Bakeroni is located at 9A, Jalan Desa Jaya, Taman Desa. The cafe is 2-3 shops next to Public Bank. This is the second time i am visiting this place. This cafe is well known for their bakeries, toast in particular. The cafe is divided to Smoking and Non Smoking area. The cafe is air conditioned and very clean too. Inside the cafe, I notice that there are plenty of magazines and newspaper cutting that wrote on the recommendation on this cafe.

The cafe offer a huge variety of menu. There are also set lunch, set dinner and tea break set which offer at an affordable price. The menu include toast, croissant, chicken chop, fish and chips, soup, spaghetti and many more. There are also plenty of choices for drinks.
Anyway, since 3 of us want to try different food, so we decided to order for sharing. We had ordered Sinful toast, Croissant (Turkey ham, egg, salad), Huzaren toast, Turkey ham, egg and cheese toast, fries, ice- cream and 2 iced lemon tea (me and Andrew).

The ice cream came to our table first. There are 3 type of flavours; chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. There are some toppings on top of the ice cream ; chocolate rice, 2 slices of biscuits and whipped cream. I had a few spoon of ice cream and the rest was eaten by Jin. Overall the ice cream tasted normal only not haagen dazz or baskin robins, but Jin did comment that the ice cream kinda melt a bit too fast.

Ice cream (rainbow ice cream, if not mistaken)

Next was the croissant. The croissant looks very delicious. It was cutted into 3 pieces, each for 3 of us. There are a lot of salad (lettuce), tomatoes slices, cucumber slices ,onion rings, turkey hams and boiled eggs stuffed into the croissant. The croissant was filled will fresh mayonise sauce. In short, the crossaint is very filling!!! It was well stuffed with the fillings! The croissant itself is already very tasty. It was freshly baked, the skin is very crispy but the bread is very soft. It also had a great taste of butter. The vegetables stuffed inside is very fresh too. It goes very well with the mayonise sauce. While the boiled egg and turkey ham also tasted very good with the croissant!! Overall it is as good as its look!! very delicious.

Croissant.. yummy

Later, the long waited sinful toast came. I had wanted to taste the sinful toast for quite sometime already. From the picture in the menu, it looks like a toast covered with a lot of chocolate sauce!!.
Anyway, the toast is covered with some cocoa powder (i guess is Milo), there are lots of raisin on all over the toast. The toast was topped with a slice of Cheddar cheese and heated for a while. The Cheddar cheese is already soften and melted when it was served. It was as chocolate as I expected. I am not a fan of raisin, so i don't quite enjoy the toast. The cheese, raisins and cocoa powder didn't go very well together. 3 of us didn't really favoured it..I had an idea, instead of using raisin, I would prefer if it is chocolate chip, or koko crunch, choco rice or choco pops. It will allow me to have something crispy to chew with these hot toast! hehe...

Sinful Toast (not that sinful)

Next was the Huzaren toast. The Huzaren toast is covered with lots of Cheese.. Inside the cheese there are some mix vegetables ; carrot cubes, onion cubes, capsicum slices mix together on top of the toast. Jin and Andrew said that this toast is more sinful as there are lots of cheese topped on the toast! If you like to eat cheese and vegetables you will defiantely enjoy this toast. It is quite filling and 3 of us like it very much!

Huzaren toast

The fries came when we were eating our Huzaren toast, It was a normal french fries. The thin one not the fat one like TGIF served. However, french fries had always been a good snack to be shared.

French Fries

The last food that came was the turkey ham, egg and cheese toast! The toast certainly looks very delicious! There are together 4 pair of sandwiches in 1 serving. The egg is very tasty as it was fried nicely, not too raw or overcooked, just nice. There egg portion is quite big inside each sandwich. The turkey ham and cheese also tasted very nice and fresh. The cheese melt as it was heated in the oven together with the turkey ham, egg and bread. This toast is certainly a good choice for breakfast or lunch with a cup of tea. I really like it very much. During lunch hour, this toast is one of the Set meal menu. I believe this toast is also the cafe signature toast, as I saw a lot of people ordering it.

Turkey ham egg and cheese toast

Overall, i like most of the menu in this restaurant. There are a variety of toasts and bakeries available. I would certainly go back to this place again!
Note; From my first visit, I tried its Bakeroni toast, it tasted very nice too. Like a mini pizza

Overall rating:
  • Environment : 6.5/10 (air conditioned, smoking and non smoking area seperated
  • Food : 7.5/10
  • Service : 6.5/10(the waiters and waitress are very patience)
  • Price : around rm45-50 ( 2 drinks, ice cream, 1sinful toast, 1 croissant, 1Huzaren toast, 1 order of turkey ham egg cheese toast ; consits of 4 portion and a plate of french fries)

Krispy Kreme

Doughnut ...Doughnut....Yummy!!

The moment I reached Hong Kong I already told Jaime that I want to eat Krispy Kreme!!!!..

She told me to just walk around Hong Kong if see any, we go and eat else .....because she is unsure of the location. :(
As we walk along Hong Kong Island towards the longest escalator in Hong Kong, we came across a street named, Elgin street...Out of sudden, I heard Jaime shouted 'Krispy Kreme!!!' ......

Krispy Kreme at Elgin Street

We were so happy and excited when we saw it and quickly grab a few photos before entering the shop to get out DOUGHNUTS!!!

Jaime and I were too busy looking at the doughnuts baked and displayed at the counter, while Kit took a seat in the shop. There are lots of variety (flavour) of doughnuts available. The personnel actually told us that some of the flavours are the normal ones where u can buy in any Krispy Kreme outlets around the world and some are only available in Hong Kong. (guess this guy knew that we are not from Hong Kong).

The Price Menu

Anyway Jaime and I couldn't care for more we just pick the doughnut from the 'outlook'.
We bought 1/2 dozen , the flavours that we picked was; green tea, caramel glazed, cheese cake, chocolate, chocolate(different type) and all time favourite ORIGINAL GLAZE!!!!!
I can say all the flavours tasted super delicious!!!!
The doughnuts is so soft and hot (freshly baked). It would melt the moment you bite and put inside your mouth! Yummy!!!....

Doughtnut that we bought (should buy more, regret)

The doughnut is still very fresh even we eat it the next 2 days. It still taste very good!
Krispy Kreme certainly taste better than, Big Apple and J Co but I would agree that Big Apple and J Co have a wider variety of flavours.
Krispy Kreme ORIGNAL GLAZE definitely rules!!

Overall rating:
