Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang

Tonight, i had a decent and delicious dinner. The best thing about it was i remember to take picture of the food that i ordered :)

After much discussions, Kit had suggested that we have our dinner at a decent Chinese restaurant that we often visit for the past few years, so that i can have more material to put here. The Chinese restaurant is called Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang.

Picture taken from the billboard of the restaurant

I took the name card of the restaurant, so that i can get the correct details of it.
This restaurant is situated along the shop lots at Sentul Raya. It is just a few shops away from Public Bank.

The address&contact number of the restaurant is...

Address & Contact number of the restaurant

In case u are not familiar with the area, i capture a simple map of its location from the name card of the restaurant.

Simple map of its location

Customer can actually call the restaurant for reservations. They can even ordered their food in advanced and once the customer arrive, they will be given the priority to get the food served first. The restaurant also accept 'take away' dish. Customer may order some dishes to be taken out and enjoy it at home

Ok lets go back to what we had ordered...

The first dish that came to our table was their signature dish, Clay pot Fish Curry. If you are a fan of fish head, u may order its fish head curry. Since i don't fancy much about fish head we decided to order the fish curry with extra 'tau fu pok'. yummy!

Fish Curry

When the fish curry is arriving, u can actually smell its aroma coming towards you. That aroma makes u damn hungry.. hehe... The fish curry has some cabbage, long beans, brinjal and lots of tau fu pok mix with the fishes. The fish is fresh and taste good! The curry is quite thick and really mix well with the white rice.. Yeah...

The tau fu pok is the best among the rest!!!! It absorb the curry very well, so once u bite on it ...yum yum yum...its so hard to explain u need to try it!! I ate almost all the tau fu pok..Kit only manage to grab a few piece of it only but, Kit ate most of the fish...see i am a fair person :P

My plate of white rice&fish curry

The second dish that came over was the vegetable. I am not sure what is the name of this vegetables in English, but in Cantonese it is call ' Fan shui miew' . I like to eat this vegetables too. It was cook in a simple way, just some oil , salt and garlic. The vegetables are fresh and not too oily or salty.

Vegetables (sigh, i almost forgot to capture the picture
and my camera din work well on it)

The last dish that we came from our order, was the fried chicken wing. This fried chicken wing is also one of their signature dish. Hence this is also one of my favourite dish from this restaurant. (so to Alvin) hehe...

Fried chicken wings

The chicken wing is marinated with an ingredient call 'nam yu' in Cantonese and fried till golden brown. It is very crispy and hot. If u like the taste of 'nam yu' u definitely love eating this fried chicken wing. U even enjoy eating it just like that without the rice.. It suit for both kids and adults :)

This restaurant is a double storey restaurant. Whereby the upper floor actually is air conditioned. There is also another 'Restoran XXXX Liew Siang' in Sentul. This restaurant is in Bandar Baru Sentul, also along shop lots. I also heard that there is another one around Kepong. All this 'Liew Siang' has the served the same signature dish. I am not sure which is the original one and why they spilt up. But i certainly enjoy the food in this Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang.

p/s -There have lots more signature dish such as, hot pan prawn and squid in Indonesian style, shark meat, pork knuckles, crabs, clay pot sea food bowl and many more. Do give it a try when u feel like having Chinese food .

Overall rating:
  • Environment : 7/10
  • Food : 8 /10
  • Service : 7.5/10
  • Price : average Chinese restaurant at your neighbourhood

Just had a family dinner here. Food was really pretty good until we found a FLY in the famous lala soup. The management was quite rude when dealing with us. Told us its not their fault as they got the lala from the market!!! even told us that we should look before we eat!!! I expect more from such a famous restaurant. What a shame as the food is really not bad.
