Ho Ho Steamboat (Jln Ipoh Yong Tau Foo)

Recently, almost everyday been raining and the weather is so cooling. Therefore last friday Kit and I decided to have steamboat for dinner.
Long long time ago, we had notice that, during dinner hours, the Jln Ipoh Yong Tau Foo had rented their place to someone that serve steamboat.

Steamboat clear soup.

We decided to order the set meal for 2 person, which cause rm13.90 per person. From the menu, the set meal is only applicable to 2 person and above. So no set meal for 1 person....Unlike other steamboat restaurant, this Ho Ho steamboat only serves the 'clear soup'. There isn't any other choice of soup. Actually I was quite disappointed, as I was looking forward to have my steamboat with tom yum soup!

Set meal dishes

Set meal

Like other steamboat restaurant, the food in the set meal are quite standard. There are 2 pork balls, 2 slices of yam, slices of fish, 2 fish balls, Chinese cabbages, 2 prawns, tau fu, tau fu pok, pieces of fu chuk, fish rolls, yee mee, eggs, vermicelli. However, there are also other addtional dish that u can add on. These dishes is not included in the set meal, such as 'kam cham mushrooms', different type of vegetables, etc (sorry i can't remember)

Satay sauce

The steamboat is served with a bowl of 'satay sauce'. There are lots of peanuts inside the satay sauce. The satay sauce is very spicy and taste very good with the pork balls & fu chuk. Yummy.
Overall, the Ho Ho restaurant is quite a good place to hang out if you like clear soup steamboat.
To my surprise, the 'clear soup' taste was not as bad as i thought. It was quite tasty and has a strong taste of anchovies. Hoever, i still prefer my tom yum soup. yummy!
Ok guess is time to rate, since there is nothing much to write about the Ho Ho Steamboat.

Overall rating:

  • Environment : 6.5/10 (there are a lot of fans)
  • Food : 6/10
  • Service : 6/10
  • Price : 13.90 per person (meal)
